more of an engine prototype than an actual game at this point. in terms of concrete content you have:
- 4 pieces of player equipment which give you multiple options in combat (you start with all of them, too!)
- 5 enemies with varied movesets and quirks
- re-emphasized energy management system in a traditional rougelike format
- an incredible ease to the process of getting killed
- very very rudimentary level generation (hint: press r to restart the level)
technical information on all the aspects of the game, as well as specific thoughts regarding design, can be found in the readme of the windows download.
CONTROLS (reiterated in readme):
arrow keys to move
period to skip your turn
click the to right buttons to toggle viewed equipment
click moves to select them and click tiles in the game world to use these moves
click middle mouse button to pan (and double click middle mouse button to pan back to player)
click enemies that aren't in range to view their stats
right click deselects these enemies and your current move
r restarts
NOTE FOR JUDGES: the currently uploaded version represents a "day 1 patch" which fixes a crash bug and adds a web version. for a more representative experience for judging, download the desktop version (and imagine it crashing when you click the UI during a game over)
